Venus

Venus is the second planet in the solar system and is the sixth largest planet. It is the brightest planet. Its radius in kilometers is 6052. Its diameter is about 12,100 kilometers. Venus’s distance form the sun is about 108,207,000 kilometers. Venus is an inferior planet, it shows phases. The first spacecraft that landed on Venus was Mariner. There are many layers of clouds floating around Venus. They are made of sulfuric acid. They obscure the surface of Venus. The surface of Venus is hot enough to completely melt lead. Venus once had water on it but it all evaporated form the hot air. It is the least hospitable planet. Venus has no magnetic field. It takes Venus a little under 225 days to orbit the sun. The atmosphere on the surface of Venus is mostly made of carbon dioxide with a little of nitrogen. Venus can be seen with the naked eye in the morning and at night. Astronomers named Venus after the roman god of love and beauty. Venus is called a twin sister because they’re sizes are so close together. Venus’s surface is waterless, rocky, dusty, and ahs a lot of mountains. It has many canyons, plains, and has a 200 mile river that is made of hardened lava. Venus’s surface temperature ranges from 890 to 900 degrees Fahrenheit. Its core is made of iron and nickel. Venus is known as the morning star or the evening star. It appears just before sunrise and sunset. It has silicon rocks just like earth. Its atmospheric pressure is 90 times stronger then earth. Carbon dioxide and water vapour are called greenhouse gases. They absorb he infrared radiation emitted by sunlight on Venus's surface. That causes the greenhouse effect.Venus is the hottest planet. It takes Venus 225 earth days to go around the sun. It takes 243 to rotate once.Venus has phases just like the earth.Venus rotates around the sun so fast that it doesn't even rotate once. The planet rotates from east to west. Venus has no moons. If the sun was a basketball venus wwould be a ping pong ball. there are strong winds at the cloud tops. The average temperature of venus is 464 degrees celcius. Venus orbits in a nearly circular orbit. The first spacecrft to study Venus up close is the Mariner 2.No one knows who discovered venus. It has been known before recorded time. Back then astronomers didn't really know what it was. Copernicus made his model of the solar system and placed the sun in the middle, and placed the planets that orbited it. That was when venus was actually made a planet. Later on Copernicus' theory was supported when Galileo turned his telescope to Venus and saw that Venus had phases.Pepole believe ancient civilizations first was it.The maximum temperature on Venus is 460 degrees celcius. The coldest temperature on Venus that was recorded was 150 degreees celcius. The temperatures on Venus are different since the mountain temperatures are slighly cooler then on the surface of Venus. Its atmoshphere is 97 percent carbon dioxide. It is made of sulfric and compounds od fluorine and chlorine. This causes a type od acid precipitaion called vigra, it evaporates before it reaches the surface.Venus' clouds are so acidic that it can burn through steel. the clouds are made in this way.The volcanoes violent eruption blasted out sulfric acid that mixed with water vapor. It makes concentrated sulfric acid. Venus can be seen several times in a month. You can see it during the morning and evening without a telescope. Venus' surface is made up of rock, sand and dirt. It has a very dry surface.Venus got its name because from the earth Venus looks beautiful with its skin tan color, and sometimes redish color but otherwise everything else is dangerous. Venus has many craters.Winds on Venus are faster then a tornado. Venus had impact craters, canyons, flatlands, valleys, and volcanoes. The craters show that there has been volcanic activity. Venus fits into the sun a little over 1.5 ,million times. Venus has been known before humans could record history so no one knows who really dicovered it. But Copernicus was the first to name it a planet.
